In a resplendent showcase of international synergy, 2023 Dialogue Shandong-Korea Industrial Cooperation and Exchange Conference (2023对话山东-韩国·山东产业合作交流会) dawned upon the vibrant city of Seoul on October 13. Hosted by KOTRA Qingdao (青岛) Office and Shandong CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade 山东省贸促会), this event bore the theme, "Gathering New Consensus for Cooperation and Cultivating New Momentum for Development."
With the atmosphere ripe for precision, the occasion brought together professionals from the global health and beauty industry, amongst others, and facilitated precise partnerships, stimulating discourse on policy harmonization and the blossoming of a thriving ecosystem of collaboration.
The distinguished event saw the presence of eminent figures, including Xing Haiming (邢海明), Chinese Ambassador to South Korea (中国驻韩国大使馆), and Jihyung Lee (李知炯), Vice President of KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency). Their impassioned speeches resonated through the halls, energizing the audience.
Deng Yunfeng (邓云锋), Deputy Governor of Shandong Provincial People's Government (山东省人民政府), delivered a keynote address that outlined Shandong's rich history, promising resources, and its commitment to modernization.
In a voice that transcended geographic borders, Xing Haiming (邢海明), Chinese Ambassador to South Korea (中国驻韩国大使馆), highlighted Shandong's pivotal role in China-South Korea exchanges and stressed the enormous potential for cooperation in medical care and health, green and low-carbon initiatives, modern agriculture, and cross-border e-commerce. The future is bright, with economic growth and burgeoning consumption levels offering vast realms for synergy.
Jihyung Lee (李知炯), Vice President of KOTRA, emphasized the robust foundation of collaboration that Shandong Province has with South Korea. Mutual cooperation in medical care, health, culture, and beyond was hailed as a key objective to model China's alliance with South Korea.
This event's significance was underscored by Zhang Shaogang (张少刚), Vice Chairman of CCPIT (China Council for the Promotion of International Trade 中国国际贸易促进委员会), who stated that it marks the commencement of the second thirty-year era of China-South Korea relations.
The session was also marked by insights from Zhuang Yan (庄严), Director of Shandong Provincial Department of Civil Affairs (山东省民政厅厅长) regarding opportunities in the elderlycare and seniorcare industry in Shandong province.
Renowned South Korean economy expert and distinguished professor of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (韩国外国语大学), Hanjin Park (朴汉真) highlighted the opportunities for cooperation between Shandong and South Korea, particularly in biomedicine, intelligent manufacturing, and cultural tourism.
Deng Yong (邓勇), Deputy Mayor of Weihai City (威海市) made an expression of hope to enhance cooperation in various industries.
As the event unfolded, representatives from various sectors, including Korea Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) & Startups Agency (KOSME 韩国中小企业振兴公团), Korea International Trade Association (KITA 韩国贸易协会), Incheon Chamber of Commerce & Industry (仁川商工会议所), Korea China Business Research Institute (韩国中国经营研究所), Korean Overseas Chinese Federation (韩国华人华侨联合总会), and Korea Techno-Venture Foundation (韩国技术风投财团), engaged in precise negotiations with more than 130 Chinese and Korean companies. These negotiations resulted in over 70 cooperation intentions with a total value of 1.8 billion yuan.
Among the highlights were eight collaboration projects, including a significant medical electronics endeavor by Weihai Beiyang Electric Group (威海北洋电气集团), with a contract value of 80 million yuan. The wide array of sectors covered in these collaborations spanned medical care, health, artificial intelligence, agriculture, food, and degradable materials.
The "Dialogue Shandong (对话山东)" platform, representing Shandong Province on the global stage, emerged as a vital bridge for international collaboration. The event was a testament to Shandong's commitment to fostering global connections and offered an opportunity for more than 100 delegates to visit South Korea. Beyond official business, the event showcased the cultural diversity and creative products of Shandong, serving as a captivating exposition of the province's essence.
